HER Madison 1/2 Marathon

Last weekend Lisa and Krissy participated in Her Madison and had a fantastic day!

The day started out rainy and muggy - but the ladies were thrilled to get the green light to race!

Check out this awesome photo of them taking off --- we LOVE that Dean & St. Mary's chair!

This was a really unique race --- all women - all amazing!
Lisa and Krissy mad friends all over the course everyone encouraging and helping the other along the way.

Big thumbs up from Angel Lisa on the course!

While these races are fun and provide an awesome medal at the end --- they are also used as training runs for the team. So incredible to see the team getting stronger every day!

Right before the finish line Krissy got out of the chair and Lisa and Krissy were able to cross the finish line together.
I love her JOY!

And this photo is just as good - that folks is the image of pride and success!
Congrats ladies - it was a hot one - and you were incredible!

May was a GREAT Month!

A big shout out to everyone that supported Krissy's Madtown team in May!

Our goal was to raise $2,500 in 31 days for Team Krissy and thanks to you... we did it!

We had 50+ people participate in the virtual 5K and Flat Krissy was seen across the country in multiple states and even abroad in Europe!

Flat Krissy in Tenessee!

Flat Krissy in Madrid!

Flat Krissy and one of her biggest supporters!

Flat Krissy in Key West!

Flat Krissy in Michigan

THANK YOU SO MUCH to everyone that helped and supported Team Krissy so far.
We are doing great and have a few more months to train and fundraise before Ironman!

Stay tuned!

PS - still want to support mTT via Team Krissy?
Remember the link to our fundraising page is always at the top of the blog on the right side!
Thank you!

Training rides

The whole team took to the IRONMAN loop last weekend for a 40 mile ride.

I was able to find them on the course and snap a quick photo!

Love the joy you see on the course from other riders!
(I'm talking about the random photo bomber in the green) :)

This group truly embodies the "TEAM" effort --- John and Lisa don't need to be biking, yet here they are training together. Plus, John would get behind Patrick and Krissy on hills and give him a push as needed.
So cool!

We have been looking for a trailer for Patrick to train with as needed (5am weekday rides are a little unreasonable to ask Krissy to participate in!)
We got this one from our neighbors --- sadly it doesn't fit on Patrick's road bike, but I got a small taste of what he is doing on his rides with Krissy --- wow!!!!

So, if you are out early in the mornings and see Lisa pushing a kid stroller with rocks or Patrick riding a mountain bike with a trailer filled with sand bags --- give 'em a HIGH FIVE  and tell them to keep up the great work!

Sharing our story at Dean & St. Mary's

So last week we took our mTT story on the road --- literately!

Dean & St. Mary's have been awesome partners, especially over the past few months and we were thrilled when they asked us to share our story at their annual Mission Days events.
The theme of Mission days was "Shine" and all of the stories, awards, reflections, speakers and songs were meant to re-energize their staff and reflect on the wonderful work they do.

We were pumped that they felt our story could do that for them... we couldn't agree more!

We shared two of the awesome videos about mTT and shared a bit of Captain Rylan's story and how he inspired his family in so many ways.
Krissy shared her story and depending on the day - one of our Angels came to share their story and more about Ironman in general.
It was AWESOME!!!

We started the week in Madison and Krissy and John were amazing.
John did a great job of explaining the course and the team and how each team member will be working with Krissy to accomplish her goal.

Tuesday we were in Janesville and Wednesday in Baraboo --- Krissy and Lisa both spoke - again knocking it out of the park with painting a visual picture of the team and the day.
Lisa talked about stacking the deck with highly qualified athletes - I couldn't agree more!

Check out this incredible theater we were in --- fully restored Ringling Brothers in downtown Baraboo --- just beautiful!

Krissy joked it looked like I was doing a Ted talk --- maybe their will hear about us!

And we wrapped up the week back in Madison to a crowd of 600 people!
Patrick worked the crowd and had them laughing and cheering.
These 3 were incredible and Krissy received TWO standing ovations --- :)
Awesome!

We are truly grateful for this incredible opportunity to share our journey with some many at Dean & St. Mary's. It is our hope that these folks and many others will join us out on the course in cheering this amazing team on as they accomplish this fantastic goal.

Thank you again Dean & St. Mary's and St. Clare and St. Mary's Janesville for allowing us the time to share our story and thank you for your generous contribution to Team Krissy's fundraising efforts.
