Sharing our story at Dean & St. Mary's

So last week we took our mTT story on the road --- literately!

Dean & St. Mary's have been awesome partners, especially over the past few months and we were thrilled when they asked us to share our story at their annual Mission Days events.
The theme of Mission days was "Shine" and all of the stories, awards, reflections, speakers and songs were meant to re-energize their staff and reflect on the wonderful work they do.

We were pumped that they felt our story could do that for them... we couldn't agree more!

We shared two of the awesome videos about mTT and shared a bit of Captain Rylan's story and how he inspired his family in so many ways.
Krissy shared her story and depending on the day - one of our Angels came to share their story and more about Ironman in general.
It was AWESOME!!!

We started the week in Madison and Krissy and John were amazing.
John did a great job of explaining the course and the team and how each team member will be working with Krissy to accomplish her goal.

Tuesday we were in Janesville and Wednesday in Baraboo --- Krissy and Lisa both spoke - again knocking it out of the park with painting a visual picture of the team and the day.
Lisa talked about stacking the deck with highly qualified athletes - I couldn't agree more!

Check out this incredible theater we were in --- fully restored Ringling Brothers in downtown Baraboo --- just beautiful!

Krissy joked it looked like I was doing a Ted talk --- maybe their will hear about us!

And we wrapped up the week back in Madison to a crowd of 600 people!
Patrick worked the crowd and had them laughing and cheering.
These 3 were incredible and Krissy received TWO standing ovations --- :)
Awesome!

We are truly grateful for this incredible opportunity to share our journey with some many at Dean & St. Mary's. It is our hope that these folks and many others will join us out on the course in cheering this amazing team on as they accomplish this fantastic goal.

Thank you again Dean & St. Mary's and St. Clare and St. Mary's Janesville for allowing us the time to share our story and thank you for your generous contribution to Team Krissy's fundraising efforts.

The Friendship Run!!!!

While it was a SUPER CHILLY and WINDY weekend --- it was a FANTASTIC weekend for Krissy's Madtown Team!!!!

Black Men Run came out to support Team Krissy in a big way!
And - a new captain has found his calling - so great!!!!

Patrick getting the run on its way and and pointing out the course and the rules!

Krissy and Jen pre-friendship run.
Krissy was rocking the mTT gear --- looks awesome and WARM!

Captain Katherine and her "girls kick butt" headband

So grateful to our neighbor Joe for playing the national anthem for us --- Joe - you made us official!
And my favorite line from Joe --- "what instrument do you want?"
My answer: "the fact that you can even give me options makes you so totally awesome!"

Our four captains for the day --- really cool that so many participants had the opportunity to try being an angel.  I think our angel list is gonna grow!!!

The whole group!

And they are off!

Can't believe it is May 14th with all the layers and coats and blankets...

Love the excitement from the adults and kids!
We even got some folks that wouldn't typically call themselves "runners" out moving their feet.
That really means a lot to us!!!

Post race - RAFFLE!
Thank you again to all of our incredible donors --- look at the strips of tickets - these prizes were incredible and everyone wanted in on the action!

Kristen and Mike putting their tickets in.
We were so glad they could join us and celebrate Captain Rylan.
Krissy said it best, "Rylan was definitely with us today --- Uncle Mike and Aunt Kristen won raffle prizes and it snowed!" Thanks for watching over us Captain Rylan!

Love this photo purely for the tickets flying out of Lisa's hand!
It was so windy!!!!

All of our raffle winners --- congrats and thank you again for your support!

We still have 1/2 the month of May left for more Virtual 5K participants --- please keep the energy going and help Flat Krissy travel the world in support of our Ironman goal!

Thank you!

First bike ride!

Last night Patrick and Krissy took to the road for their first training ride!

Before the ride!

Mid-ride!

Post ride!

Here are Krissy's comments after the ride:
"Wow, just wow!
I was scared to death, and then just like that I was comfortable. We went up and down huge hills. It was unbelievable to feel "normal", like I was riding the bike. The wind in my hair, the bumps and of course a few tears because I just couldn't imagine ever feeling that way.
Thank you so much Patrick!
And thank you Kristin Schmidt and Mike Schmidt for the safety training!"

We ALL have some training to do!

We have taken a team approach to this IRONMAN effort --- even those of us not racing have important jobs and training to do!

This past weekend, the boys and I went to the Tri 4 Schools event in Waunakee.
We are working on cheering for the racers and staying OUT OF THE WAY when we are near the course!

First run of the season!!!!

This past weekend Krissy and Lisa went out for their maiden voyage of the season!
Despite the cold and rainy weather - they clocked 8 MILES!

Love to see those smiling faces!!!!

Hopefully the next run won't require a blanket!!!

Join us for the Friendship Run!

I should have posted this weeks ago - but sometimes that is life :(
But don't think for even a minute that  it means I am not super pumped about this post - so keep reading!!!

Calling all LOCAL (and non-locals that are super committed and willing to drive to McFarland!)
We are proud to be hosting the first ever Friendship run on Saturday, May 14th in McFarland.
All funds raised go directly to support mTT through Krissy's Madtown Team - so grab your friends and join us for a fun run and some BBQ in the back yard!

Simply click on the link above or below for more information and to register.
Not a runner, no problem... it is a 5K and it is a Team Run --- no runner left behind! It is a unique opportunity to engage with the racing chairs - if you never have participated in a mTT event before --- this is the perfect opportunity!

Plus even if you don't want to run - there is still plenty of opportunity to come and hang out and enjoy the festivities. As you may have seen, we have some awesome raffle prizes and tickets are cheap --- buy a few or an arms length (bring a tall friend to maximize your tickets!) for your chance at fabulous items!

And what can be better than back yard grilling with friends in May?
Kids and babies welcome - there is a park/ playground / sandbox right at the site.
We hope you will join us for a fun afternoon!

The new racing chair is here!

Last week at the 2016 Madison my Team Triumph kick off party we got our first glimpse at the new racing chair!!!! It is lighter, it is sleeker, it is faster, it is AWESOME!!!!

Captain Krissy got to be the first to try it out --- naturally!
Love how she is getting all comfy in it!

Lisa and her Haunted Hustle Captain Miguel got to give it a test run too!

Lilly wanted to give it a go as well and Patrick was happy to give her a ride.

And of course - our most recent team photo --- this is a wall at Blackhawk church and we thought it was perfect for a picture.
Love is many things... but today - for this group,
Love is TEAMWORK!
